Abstract |
Glazing is a primary factor in the radiative, convective and conductive heat transfer through the building envelope and can be used to control or limit each of these energy flows. It is also the primary component in fenestration systems affecting the admission of natural light into buildings and thus critically affects the potential of energy savings through daylighting. Glazing is perhaps the building material with the broadest range of impact; its selection will affect all of the issues below. Glazing impacts:
