The aim of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory (LBL) lighting program is to reduce the nations lighting energy use by 50% through the introduction of more efficient and cost-effective systems and strategies. We work toward this goal in close partnership with the lighting industry to enhance its long-term viability. To achieve this goal, the lighting program undertakes research in lamp science and technology, application of lighting to buildings, and the impacts of lighting on human health and productivity. The technical methodologies employed by LBL are described herein. |
