The superconducting properties and the effect of adjacent layers in ultra-thin YBCO are studied in YBCC/(PrxY1-x)BCO superlattices. We describe the effects of layering in (La0.7Ba0.3)MnO3 for the purposes of fundamental studies and possible applications of these newly recognized colossal magnetoresistance materials. © 1996 Academic Press Limited.
