The Michigan Legislature passed Public Act 341 in December 2016, a law that requires rate-regulated electric utilities to submit integrated resource plans (IRPs) to the Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) for review and approval. At the MPSC{\textquoteright}s request, and funded by the U.S. Department of Energy{\textquoteright}s Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability, Berkeley Lab provided technical assistance on several topics in a series of stakeholder meetings.
The May 1, 2017, stakeholder meeting slides cover: (1) an overview of integrated resource planning, (2) treatment of energy waste reduction; (3) treatment of demand response; and (4) accounting for uncertainty.
The August 8, 2017, stakeholder meeting slides cover: (1) a review of the May 1 IRP presentation; (2) time-varying value of energy efficiency; (3) modeling uncertainty and risk; and (4) stakeholder engagement in IRP.
